Helping you become the person you were always meant to be, one step at a time.
I want you all to know I take your health and well being very seriously. Below are the steps I have taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

Nobody knows you like you know yourself. Your past decisions weigh on you and stop you from moving forward, to a place of peace and growth. Your past does not determine your future, each day is a new opportunity to start fresh. You may doubt who you are or what you want out of life, but you are the keeper of your story and do have power over your future. Your journey to finding the best life possible begins when you decide to make the change. I consider it an honor to walk down the path of exploration with you. No journey is too big or small, I believe in honoring all of life’s moments with my clients in a nonjudgmental environment.
I believe the counseling experience should be unique for each person. I help my clients to manage their anxiety before their anxiety manages them. I work with my clients to discover the message their depression is trying to tell them. I help clients to discover old unhealthy patterns and coping skills and to seamlessly replace them with new healthy skills.
I have been trained to use multiple evidence-based practices in my work, including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Brainspotting and Trauma Informed Care. I understand that reaching out for help is the hardest part of change, change that you may doubt is even possible. I firmly believe that the life you desire is possible, and so will you.
I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and post graduate degree in Marriage, Couples and Family Counseling. I obtained a doctorate in Interdisciplinary Health Care Studies focusing on Mind/Body connection with chronic pain and program evaluation. I taught for 5 years at Western Michigan University, I am a National Certified Counselor, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Certified Family Therapist. I am a chronic pain survivor who has dedicated his life, both personally and professionally, to the treatment of those surviving chronic pain through lifestyle changes.
A holistic health assessment goes beyond focusing solely on physical health. It also addresses emotional, mental and spiritual health. The whole condition of the patient is taken into consideration for ongoing wellness across the lifespan. The development of a relationship with the patient begins with open, therapeutic communication. This supportive, non-judgmental method of assessment recognizes that the patient's stress levels, diet and relationship issues can often exacerbate many ailments.
A holistic health assessment allows the nurse to gain information essential for diagnosis, planning and implementation. It shows respect for the patient's preferences and preserves the patient's dignity. The six aspects of a holistic assessment include:
